Abstract

Double stator single rotor permanent magnet synchronous motor (DSSR-PMSM) has the disadvantages of large torque ripple and abundant back-EMF harmonic content. To improve the electromagnetic performance of the motor, a double-stator single-rotor magnetic field modulation motor (DSSR-MFMM) with high-temperature superconductor (HTS) bulks is proposed in this paper. The epoxy resin is replaced by superconducting materials, and the auxiliary slot is opened in the outer stator of the motor. Some parameters of the motor are optimized by genetic algorithm. Compared with DSSR-PMSM, the proposed model has the characteristics of large back-EMF amplitude and high sinusoidal degree. The output torque is increased by 4.36% and the torque ripple is reduced by 5.12%.
