Abstract

Reusable Biomolecular Signaling Platforms In article number 2202818, Catherine E. Housecroft, Cornelia G. Palivan, and co-workers develop a reversible on-off assembly of catalytic nanocompartments via DNA hybridization to a microprinted chip which affords segregated nanoscale reactions in a defined geometrical arrangement. The chip promotes effective transfer of signals between nanocompartments, resulting in a complex cascade reaction (DNA synthesis, inorganic pyrophosphate (PPi), and adenosine triphosphate (ATP) production) that ultimately produces light. The platform is suitable for repeated cycles of cascade reactions.
