Abstract
A new diterpenoid alkaloid, patentine, has been isolated from the roots of Aconitum vilmorinianum var. patentipilum. Its structure was determined on the basis of chemical and spectral evidence. Together with this new compound, three known diterpenoid alkaloids have also been isolated and identified.
