Abstract

A novel coordination polymer [NaMn2(dmdn)3(H2O)6]·4.5H2O (dmdn = 6,6′-dimercaptodinicotinate) (1) was prepared and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction along with powder XRD, IR, elemental analyses and magnetic analyses. Compound 1, featuring a rarely reported 2-fold interpenetrated (46,69)-hxg network based on the wheel-like clusters ligated by the in situ generated dmdn ligands as the six-connected approximately planar nodes, was obtained by slow evaporation of mna (mna =6-mercaptonicotinic acid) and NaOH with MnCl2·4H2O in distilled water at room temperature. In addition, the magnetic property of 1 has also been investigated in detail.
