A distributed lag model for quarterly disaggregation of the annual personal disposable income of the Greek economy

Abstract

Quarterly data on key macroeconomic variables of the Greek economy are available for a period following the fourth quarter of 1974. In this paper a technique is proposed for time disaggregation for these annual basis variables, based on a missing data technique. The methodology applied yields quarterly estimates of Greek personal disposable income covering the period 1966:1 to 1982:4. When the disaggregated quarterly data are added up they are shown to be consistent with the corresponding annual values of the personal disposable income of the Greek economy.
