Abstract
The Laws of the People's Republic of China for the National People's Congress (NPC) and Local People's Congresses at All Levels (hereinafter briefly referred to as New Election Laws) approved at the Second Session of the Fifth NPC have become effective as of 1 January 1980. This is an important event in our political life attracting worldwide attention.
