Abstract

This article presents an ethical dilemma that has occurred in our home health care agency. This ethical dilemma was discussed in a newly developed Patient Concerns/Complaints Committee (which also addresses ethical issues related to patient care) in order to adopt a solution that all parties could accept. In light of the new Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organiza tions' standard, which requires that ethical issues be addressed, this process was successful and will be of interest to all home health care agencies.
