Abstract

A discontinuous Galerkin (DG) least-squares finite element method is developed for solving a div–curl problem. This finite element method leads to a simple symmetric positive definite system and can work on a general polytopal mesh. Optimal convergence rate in the energy norm is established. The numerical results confirm the proposed theory.
