Abstract
Na 2 Franck-Condon factors (X → A) have been measured by comparing a Na 2 X → A rotation-vibration transition with the atomic Na D 2 transition as to the onset of their Lamb dips. The measured values are in good agreement with the values calculated by Hessel and Kusch. The method can be easily extended to other alkali diatomic molecules.
