Abstract

Cochannel signals separation is an important topic in the field of radio monitoring. A direct geolocation method based on random spatial spectrum is proposed in this paper for multiple cochannel sources in the multipath wireless environment. A random spatial spectrum function is constructed based on a set of position particles. The cochannel signals are transformed to the spatial spectrum, which can significantly suppress the multipath components. A spatial sparse method based on clustering is then proposed to separate the sources in the spatial domain. Simulation results are given to demonstrate that the proposed algorithm outperforms other localization algorithms and approaches the Cramér Rao lower bound (CRLB) of the considered problem.
