Abstract

The Λπ − angular distributions for the reaction K − d → Λπ −p for the Λπ − mass range from threshold to ∼ 1400 MeV have been analyzed using scattering length parameterizations. The Σ(1385), P 13 resonance amplitude is used as the reference amplitude. The πΛ (S 11) scattering length and the πΛ (P 11) phase shift are found to be negative. The results appear to be inconsistent with the predictions of simple current algebra.
