Abstract

A method of obtaining direct difference infrared spectra of protein glasses is described. The cell constructions are given and the procedure for producing protein glasses outlined. The protein glasses are wedged shaped so as to allow easy adjustment of protein amounts in the spectrophotometer beams. The method is used to obtain difference spectra between wet (hydrated) and dry lysozyme glasses.
