Abstract

The design of a stabilizer of the oscillation amplitude of a mechanical oscillator is described. The stabilizer is characterized by digital tracking control of the feedback-circuit gain. The value of the digital code directly proportional to the oscillator damping factor is directly read out with an automated system. The digital-feedback linearity simplifies the calibration—only one reference point is necessary.
