Abstract

Serving as a case study, this article discusses a collaborative project between Cornell University and Medical Center Archives of NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell to migrate a digital image database to a public online platform. The article discusses five components archivists need to consider when creating online digital collections: workflow, metadata, copyright review, photo reproduction requests, and marketing. In addition, the article will discuss the benefits of using a collaborative approach to meet the project goals in these five areas.
