Abstract

In recent days, as the conventional sources of energy, like fossil fuels are depleting, it is more important to study and analysis some different choices of energy sources. Amongst the popularity, Renewable Energy Sources (RES) are highly demanded in now-a-days. There are many applications of renewable energy which use high power level (hundreds of MW) and many other applications use low power level (hundreds of W). In this paper, a different type multi-input DC-DC converter is proposed to change one level of direct voltage or direct current to that of other level. This non-isolated DC-DC converter intermitting the input sources like renewable sources, storage device and load is proposed for renewable power system applications. Here storage device is provided for uninterruptable power supply to load in bidirectional method. Multi-input converter can supply power to load using the sources separately or simultaneously. This model helps to reduce the size and cost of the system by reducing the number of components. The different modes of operation are discussed and simulated using MATLAB that shows increased feasibility of the proposed model.
