Abstract

A 7-year-old Negro girl was first seen for the evaluation of several loose teeth and gingival necrosis that later progressed to erosion of the mandibular labial vestibule and perforation of the lower lip and resulted in a draining wound in the left mental area. In spite of repetitive diagnostic exercises, the patient continued to develop local areas of gingival necrosis, bone loss, and exfoliation of deciduous and succedaneous teeth, with subsequent normal healing. To this date, no definitive diagnosis has been established.
