Abstract

The paper analyzes the impact on doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) and converter during grid voltage dips, presents a control strategy of resynchronization of rotor side converter (RSC). The proposed strategy gives the method of switching between the rotor converter and crowbar circuit to achieve DFIG low voltage ride through (LVRT). For the issue of stator flux observer on rotor converter grid-resynchronization control, the paper puts forward a modified method based on a stator back-EMF integration. The simulation and experimental results validate the proposed LVRT strategy can achieve DFIG system uninterrupted operation during voltage dips.
