Abstract
We present the design and fabrication of an indigenous low cost experimental set up for the measurement of velocities and attenuation for the propagation of ultrasonic waves in solids using through transmission technique at different temperatures. The measured parameters such as ultrasonic velocities, attenuation and elastic constants as a function of temperature reveal the possibility of utilizing the proposed technique for complete characterization of materials over wide range of temperatures.
