Abstract
An easily constructed device was developed to measure accurately the pattern of food and water intake in small laboratory animals. This apparatus can be used to measure continuously many of the parameters of eating and drinking in experimental animals such as the total amount of food and water consumed per day, the frequency of meals and drinks, the duration of each meal and drink, and the total eating and drinking times. These data are important variables in dental caries or nutritional experiments utilizing laboratory animals.
