Abstract

Singing is a key element in children's music education and culture. The research literature on children's singing indicates that a wide range of singing behaviours is normal and that singing development, in terms of increased competency, can be affected by many different factors. The present study details the use of a specially‐designed computer system to chart the changes in singing competence of a class of five‐year‐olds across one school year.
