Abstract

In this paper, a developed model design to simulate a Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) output has been presented. Namely, Central Tower Receiver (CTR) has been designed with a control methodology based on Artificial Neural Network (ANN) technique. In this developed modeling technique, a model of an ANN technique based on MLP networks is used to evaluate the mass flow rate of the Heat Transfer Fluid (HTF) at any given value of the received solar thermal power at the tower receiver (Pth, tr) to adjust the receiver output temperature at the estimated value. The advantage of this model is the simplification and minimization of the required input data for modeling. On the other hand, the simulation result shows that the methodology in this research evaluates the performance of CTR model in a simple and fixable manner.
