Abstract
Solar Energy is a renewable energy source which provides thermal energy without any cost. Solar energy harnessed in the form of thermal energy or electrical energy. Researchers have now focused on solar thermal energy applications. Parabolic trough collector is a mature technology available in the world today, which provides thermal energy. This review paper shows the various researchers work on parabolic trough collector. It includes the structure of Parabolic trough collector (PTC), heat transfer fluid, reflector, receiver, thermal storage systems. Various applications of parabolic trough collectors are also included in the present review paper. At last, a summary of all kinds of literature also included and found that the parabolic trough collector is one of the best solar thermal applications in today’s world.
