Abstract

In this paper we present a detailed analysis of a class of systems with constant group delay and symmetric impulse response (CGDSIR) which was recently introduced by the authors (Garcia-Trevinio, 2005). We extend the results of works made by Vucic and Babic (Vucic, 1998) that started the study of this kind of systems in 1998. The proposed approach uses a new finite error function and works in the frequency domain. The systems obtained with the optimization procedure have better pole-Q's and its group delay have a maximally flat behavior. In this work we compared our proposed system (with all-pole and one pair of zeros transfer functions) with its similar order system in Butterworth configurations, and also present its Monte-Carlo analysis. We use MATLAB optimization tool package for our purposes
