Abstract

The digital economy requires a person to have interdisciplinary knowledge and broad competencies in different sectors of the economy, rather than a narrow profile. Innovative competencies and creative abilities, the ability to think outside the box and find alternatives under uncertain conditions, are in demand. This article raises the importance of complementary ICT skills for organizations that are actively adopting digital technologies. Key features of design thinking in solving problems of IT specialists' teamwork skills, creative thinking, and adaptation to change are considered. Design Thinking methodology-based project activities of students are highlighted.
