Abstract

In this paper, a multivariable model following control system design using the fuzzy controller is developed for the boiler-turbine control system. A nominal model whose response has no overshoot and fast rise time is designed by using an integrator and a nonlinear hysterisis element. By using the relative gain matrix obtained by normalizing the steady-state gain matrix, the boiler-turbine control system is separated into single-input single-output control system. A fuzzy controller to follow as close as possible to the response of the nominal model is designed. A proposed design method for the boiler-turbine control system shows that the robustness and the optimal tracking property can be achieved under modeling error, disturbance and parameter perturbations. The effectiveness of the proposed design method is verified through simulation.
