Abstract

For several years, we have developed a gateway system known as Communication Processing System (CPS) for information and communication services. The CPS especially provides the Infoshop service that is a kind of open value-added network (VAN) service for providing the proxy function of billing and user management mechanism on behalf of all the information providers (IPs). This Infoshop service between dial-up users and IPs on the Packet Switched Data Network (PSDN) has been already developed and widely utilized. So, we considered the Infoshop service for the World Wide Web users in the Advanced CPS (ACPS) as an improved version of the CPS. We call this service the Web Infoshop and this has the special function of penetration of charged CPs authentication. This paper describes a design concept and overall system structure of the network management system for the Web Infoshop service in the ACPS.
