Abstract

This paper proposed a design of smart RFID system for monitoring hydrogen sulfide in cabin of fishing vessel. As cabin is closed, fishes and shrimps can release a lot of hydrogen sulfide gas during storage. Workers are very easy to be poisoned by hydrogen sulfide. So a rapid and low cost method of preventing hydrogen sulfide poisoning is needed. We design a smart RFID system to monitor the concentration of hydrogen sulfide in cabin of fishing vessel. Proposed system consists of smart RFID tag, temperature sensor, hydrogen sulfide sensor, reader, and server. This monitoring system can show the concentration of hydrogen sulfide for three grades, Safe, Warning, Risk. In order to confirm the usefulness of the proposed system, we performed experiments on the fishes in a closed box. With the smart RFID system, we estimated the concentration of hydrogen sulfide successfully.
