Abstract

Using our improved Optical Electric Field Sensor (OEFS) that incorporates our Log-Periodic Dipole Antenna Array (LPDA-type), it is now possible to accurately measure Electromagnetic Field Interference (Hidaka et al., IEICE Trans Commun (2014) 253–262). However, accurately evaluating the sensitivity characteristics of the LPDA-type OEFS via a standard electromagnetic field simulator resulted in an excellent but less than perfect outcome (Hidaka et al., IEICE Trans Commun (2014) 253–262). In this article, we show that a more accurate and reliable method of assessing the sensitivity characteristics of the OEFS via our software can be achieved using a detailed simulation model that prevents large errors. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
