Abstract

Abstract In this work, we present a general design automation concept for the rapid and effort-reduced design of intelligent integrated multi-sensory self-x systems, as needed for sportive or health oriented devices, Ambient Assisted Living systems, general Internet of Things (IoT), or even for Industry 4.0, and demonstrate it for the case of mobile liquid food analysis by our lab-on-spoon system. In particular, we apply dimensionality reduction and hierarchical classification to the rapid creation of powerful yet lean system solutions. For selected food classification tasks significant reductions down to 0.58% of the original data size and increase of classification accuracy up to 100% have been achieved. The measurement time could be reduced down to 0.4%.
