Abstract
Clements’ descriptor algorithm for the spectral factorization of rational matrices (Clements, 1993) is applied to the factorization of a para-Hermitian polynomial matrix. This polynomial matrix does not need to be diagonally reduced, may be unimodular, and may have roots on the imaginary axis.
