Abstract

This research was designed to investigate whether Iranian university students selected on the basis of ‘outstanding personality development’ could be reliably differentiated from other ‘normal’ Iranian university students on the basis of stressful life events, developmental histories, expressed needs and descriptive data. The two groups of students were found to be significantly different on eighteen variables. This article also presents a cross-cultural comparison with a group of American university students.
