Abstract
The calling and courtship songs of Omocestus broelemanni are described for the first time and are used, together with the shape of the ovipositor, as a basis for discussing the generic assignment of the species. It is concluded that broelemanni is now correctly placed in Omocestus. The relationship of broelemanni with two morphologically similar species, O. antigai and O. navasi, is also discussed. Although antigai, and possibly navasi, may eventually be found to be conspecific with broelemanni, it is thought best not to make any nomenclatural changes until the songs of antigai and navasi are known.
