Abstract

An algorithm for steady-state tracking control is developed to compensate the modified version of a model proposed by Robinson et. al. for the smooth pursuit eye movement system, when a target acquires a constant velocity. Acceleration-saturation is introduced into the model to account for the nonlinear relationships observed by interpreting properties of the eye movement curves. The model accounts for two stimuli to the smooth pursuit eye movement system: image motion velocity and position error. Computer simulations are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the model.
