Abstract

QRPA calculations are performed in a deformed Hartree-Fock+BCS single-particle basis to study ground state properties and beta decay rates. Consistency of the method is achieved by deriving the mean field and residual interaction from the same effective Skyrme force. We apply this scheme to various isotope chains approaching the N=Z line in the A≃70 mass region, where deformation is known to play an important role. We get good agreement with experimental half-lives and predict the behavior of the energy distributions of the Gamow Teller strength.
