Abstract

We consider the functional I ( λ , u ) = 1 2 ∫ Ω | ∇ u | 2 - λ log 1 | Ω | ∫ Ω e u , u ∈ H 0 1 ( Ω ) . When λ = 8 π N ( N any positive integer), I ( λ , · ) admits unbounded Palais–Smale sequences. To overcome this lack of compactness, we propose a new deformation lemma.
