Abstract

A trawling survey for demersal fishery resources was carried out in the deep water between the atolls of the Maldive Islands. A single specimen of deep-sea lobster Palinustus unicornutus was captured together with specimens of Puerulus sewelli Ramadan, 1938, and Puerulus angulatus (Bate, 1888). This is a new record for the Central Indian Ocean. Palinustus unicornutus was known only from two specimens, both collected from waters off Natal, South Africa.
