In this paper, we present a decision model for evaluating and selecting Cloud Computing Services. A strong focus is put on the economic, environmental and social perspectives which are subsumed under the term 'sustainable information systems management'. The model supports decision makers in comprehensively evaluating relevant cost types. We seek to formulate a realistic model by applying a combination of deductive and inductive steps to reveal the core characteristics of Cloud Computing Services and their economic, environmental and social impacts. For the construction of the pricing model and the determination of carbon emission costs, we drew on several theoretical and practical sources. The quality of the model is confirmed on the one hand by expert interviews and on the other hand by the outcomes of a simulation study including two scenarios and a statistical evaluation. The presented research results clarify the need to consider more than the economic dimension — including factors and attributes of sustainable information systems management — in evaluating and selecting Cloud Computing Services.

Purpose of the paper : This paper aims to contribute to the definition of possible models for the enhancement of cultural heritage from the perspective of economic, social and environmental sustainability. Methodology : Viewing the environment as a naturalistic component of cultural heritage, this work is developed by benefitting from the interpretative tools of the general schemes of the Viable System Approach and makes reference to the case of the Biosphere Reserves of the UNESCO ‘Man and the Biosphere’ (MaB) Program. Findings : Our contribution puts forward a model for enhancing cultural heritage from the perspective of sustainability. The analysis of the ‘MaB’ model brings to light the value of a site as a result of the dynamic evolution of the relationship between man and nature, thus aiming to overcome a traditional objective view of value. In our research, value is understood in terms of the ability to implement models of sustainable development which integrate economic, social and environmental perspectives in a single sustainability framework. Research limits : The paper proposes the conceptual elaboration of a case study whose potential can be explored through further empirical research. Practical implications : The proposed interpretation of the theme ‘Heritage, management and business’ suggests interesting developments by highlighting the key role of the firm and the contribution of management. Originality of the paper : The interpretive approach developed in the paper brings traditionally misaligned economic, social and environmental perspectives under a unified framework focused on sustainability.

Paradigm of sustainable process safety management for industrial revolution 4.0: A circular economy and sustainability perspective

The integration of process safety management (PSM) in the transition towards a circular economy (CE) has received increased attention and consideration across a number of disciplines in the recent industrial revolution 4.0. However, questions have been raised about the conventional PSM systems lacking sustainability consideration. The purpose of this study is to introduce an emerging paradigm of sustainable process safety management (SPSM) for the industrial revolution 4.0 from the CE and sustainability point of view. By assessing the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 1910 and available global PSM frameworks, this study has identified areas of improvement for corporations and presented an SPSM framework from the social, economic, and environmental perspectives in a CE. The proposed framework makes a contribution that connects the sustainability and CE perspective with the PSM and provides a basis for the future sustainable process safety guidelines for policymakers, practitioners, and industries. Additionally, this study proposed a paradigm umbrella that connects to the PSM by focusing on social, economic, and environmental pillars from sustainability that are relevant and applicable for the industrial revolution 4.0. Furthermore, it engraves a trail of imminent research possibilities in adopting an integrated sustainable PSM framework in a CE.

Objectives This study analyzes the 2022 revised National Curriculum Framework (draft) and its alignment with Education for Sustainable Development(ESD) to derive implications for textbook development. Methods The research examines the subject-specific objectives, content systems, and achievement standards in terms of their relevance to the core content and elements of ESD. The study's objective is implemented by analyzing the content of the National Curriculum Framework(draft), subject-specific objectives, content systems, and achievement standards for each subject, while selecting relevant elements of ESD based on previous research. Results Firstly, the National Curriculum Framework(draft) is evaluated in relation to the concept of sustainable development, encompassing social, environmental, and economic perspectives of ESD. The analysis reveals that seven out of the nine social perspectives are reflected, while only four out of the nine environmental perspectives and one out of the four economic perspectives are included. This highlights the need for a more balanced approach across all perspectives. Secondly, all subjects except mathematics incorporate elements of ESD in their subject-specific objectives for fifth and sixth grades. However, apart from some environmental perspectives found in ethics, society, and practical arts, the objectives predominantly align with the social perspective. Achievement standards demonstrate a higher inclusion of core contents and content elements of sustainable development education compared to objectives and content systems. Lastly, textbook development based on the 2022 revised curriculum should ensure equal representation of all three perspectives of ESD, with diverse content elements included within each perspective. It is crucial to incorporate ESD into all subjects. Conclusions The study emphasizes the growing demand for ESD to prepare for future societies. The findings serve as fundamental guidelines for the application of ESD in textbook development and contribute to the creation of desirable textbooks.

Does industry 5.0 model optimize sustainable performance of Agri‐enterprises? Real‐time investigation from the realm of stakeholder theory and domain

The research on Industry 5.0 (i5.0) is relatively new and emerging therefore professionals are still striving to reveal its influence globally. This study investigates the impact of industry 5.0 to comprehend the insights into how it optimizes the sustainable performance (STP) within three core streams, that is, economic, environmental, and social perspectives from the realm of stakeholder theory within the Chinese agricultural industry. The results stated that i5.0 positively affects the STP of Agri‐enterprises. The empirical testing additionally affirmed the positive nexus of i5.0 practices toward each dimension of STP such as social, environmental, and economic perspectives based on structural equation modeling. First, it found that i5.0 has a positive correlation with the economic perspective. Second, the findings affirmed the positive linkage between i5.0 and the social perspective. Finally, the study indicated a significant correlation between i5.0 and the environmental perspective. This study provides real‐time empirical evidence for the management of Agri‐enterprises regarding i5.0 and insights into the embodiment of such capabilities to optimize enterprise STP by incorporating i5.0 model. This study presents several theoretical and managerial enrichments for Agri‐enterprises along with future avenues for the researchers to test the i5.0 capabilities toward rest of the sectors across the world.

Effect of Sustainability Management at Coffee Houses on Customers' Store Image and Behavioral Intention

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of sustainability management (SM) at coffee houses on customers’ store image and behavioral intention. In addition, customers’ willingness to pay a premium for sustainable coffee houses was studied. During October 2011, a web survey was conducted via an on-line research company with customers aged 20 to 39 visiting one of the top five coffee houses in Korea at least once a month. A total of 300 targeted customers responded and all the data were analyzed. An exploratory factor analysis derived two dimensions of SM: SM in Social and Environmental Perspective and SM in Economic Perspective. The result of structural equation modeling indicated that SM in Economic Perspective at coffee houses had a significant positive effect on customers’ behavioral intention with mediating effect by store image, but SM in Social and Environmental Perspective did not have such effect. Approximately one-third (31%) of the respondents were willing to pay a premium for a sustainable coffee house in a scenario. approximately 84% of the respondents unwilling to pay a premium for the sustainable coffee house chose the cost-related reasons including “Coffee price at the coffee house that they most often visit is already expensive (62.3%)” for such unwillingness. The results of this study showed that SM of coffee houses, especially that in Economic Perspective, could contribute to store image, and therefore increase customers’ favorable behavioral intention, although the additional cost resulted from such SM practices might not be easily accommodated by customers. Future Professionals: A Study of Sustainable Behavior

Sustainability in an organizational environment involves a form of management that allows attaining a balance between the economic, environmental and social dimensions, and can contribute to the sustainable behavior of employees and administrators. Nevertheless, studies that evaluate sustainable behavior of future professionals using a multidimensional approach to create a scale to measure sustainable behavior of students are relatively rare and there is a need for research in this field. Therefore, the objective of this article is to analyze the sustainable behavior of potential professionals, using the multidimensional approach of item response theory (IRT). A set of 13 items evaluated by specialists and tested by graduate students was applied to 492 undergraduate students from a community university in Southern Brazil in the schools of administration, human resources, accounting, law, civil engineering and biology. The results indicate that the students have higher sustainable behavior in the social dimension and lower in the economic dimension, highlighted by participation in voluntary activities. This result can provide important information to companies, given that in their processes for recruiting and selecting new employees, many have included issues related to sustainable practices, not only from an economic perspective, but particularly from environmental and social perspectives.

CV. XYZ is a company engaged in agribusiness as a fertilizer producer. CV manufacturing process. XYZ has not fully paid attention to the environment with the discovery of pollution due to waste. Based on observations, the percentage of B3 and non-B3 waste that has been managed is 36% and that which has not been managed is 64%. In addition to environmental pollution, this problem will also affect the economy and society if there is environmental damage and workers' health problems. This research was conducted to identify factors that support companies to implement environmentally friendly practices and provide recommendations so that companies know the steps in implementing these practices. The method used is fuzzy to tolerate inappropriate data from the questionnaire and TOPSIS to rank supporting factors based on economic, social, and environmental perspectives. The results showed that the priority supporting factors in the economic sector were market trends (0.629), social sectors were worker demand (0.594), and environmental sectors were regulatory compliance (0.629). Based on these factors, the recommendation given based on an economic perspective is to implement the 3R, namely reduce, reuse, and recycle. Recommendations based on a social perspective are the existence of ISO 14001 training programs and AMDAL training. Recommendations based on an environmental perspective are the establishment of waste limits for each department, a zero waste culture, the provision of a storage place for all waste, and working with third parties to manage all waste.

Analysis of Sustainability Status and Management of Brown Seaweed Sargassum sp. in the Waters of Ujung Kulon Conservation Area

The potential of seaweed resources in Indonesia has a significant economic value that is quite competitive and useful in the food and non-food sectors. One of the habitats of Sargassum sp. in Indonesia is Ujung Kulon, Banten Province. However, the existence of this species has not been utilized optimally and sustainably by the community. In addition, the problem is the lack of community participation in conservation water areas and sustainable management. The study aimed to determine the resource potential of brown seaweed Sargassum sp. in the location. In addition, it will evaluate the management and utilization, as well as the role of the community in sustainable management. Sustainability analysis was conducted using the Multi-Dimensional Scaling (MDS) technique through the RAPFISH (Rapid Appraisal for Fisheries) approach reinforced with Monte Carlo and Leverage analyses. The preparation of sustainability attributes is based on ecological, economic, social, and institutional dimensions. The results of this study showed that each dimension's value for the environmental dimension (66.15 entirely) is sustainable. The sustainability index value in the economic dimension (81.68) is sustainable. The results of the ordination analysis show that the sustainability index value in the social dimension (20.97) is not sustainable, institutional (31.92) with less sustainable status, so it needs to be a top priority for improvement on several sensitive attributes as leverage factors. In this case, the economic dimension is the value with the highest index, which aligns with the main livelihoods of the conservation area's people. As for the social and institutional dimensions, appropriate improvements still need to be made to support sustainable development. These results are expected to provide information and illustrations for stakeholders and the community in sustainable management efforts in formulating policy strategies.

Evaluation of Corporate Social Responsibility programs for local communities around mining companies in Kalimantan, Indonesia: environmental, economic, and social perspectives

The purpose of this study is to evaluate Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs for local communities around mining companies in Kalimantan, Indonesia, based on environmental, economic, and social perspectives. We create evaluation criteria consisting of; six on the environmental perspective, three on the economic perspective, and two on the social perspective. CSR reports are collected from the company website. Each company was given a score based on whether these evaluation criteria were present (1) or absent (0). The evaluation scores of the CSR mining companies programs’ in Kalimantan, Indonesia are high in considering cleaner production, waste reduction, material flow management, and recycling, committed to managing energy and water, developing infrastructures surrounding mining companies, has good corporate ethics, and encourages employees to volunteer for social causes and provides incentives for these activities; medium in committed to following all applicable laws and policies concerning environmental standards and policies, committed to conserving biodiversity, committed to managing sound and vibration from mining activities as well as protecting the air quality around the mining area, and enhancing self-employment options for local communities; low in taking long-term factors into accounts, such as global climate change and other environmental threats, and providing jobs opportunities for local communities. From the evaluations above, access to information, public participation, and transparency in discussing areas of corporate-community issues are all things that mining companies must improve. If there is a lack of congruence between aim, activity, and effect, civil society organizations should frequently criticize mining companies' CSR operations.

Business sustainability has become the company ambition to ensure their business existence in the long term. Companies are competing to adopt sustainability objectives in every aspect of their operations. In the context of sustainability, the term triple bottom line (TBL) is widely known as an integration of economic perspectives, environmental perspectives, and social perspectives that underlie business operations. PT ABC is a bottled water company that adopt sustainability objective since the supplier selection process. It aims to ensure that only the right suppliers which deserve to enter the company's business ecosystem. Unfortunately, supplier selection criteria at PT ABC currently only focus on economic perspective. Environmental and social perspective have not yet significantly influenced supplier selection decisions. Therefore, this study aims to determine supplier selection criteria in PT ABC based on integration of economic, environmental, and social perspective. Integration of these three perspectives is important to strengthen supplier selection decisions alignment with business sustainability objectives. Researchers reviewed 100 scientific journals which discussed supplier selection criteria from 2012 to 2023. As a result, researchers set 13 selection criteria and 20 indicators that can be used to select suppliers at PT ABC.

Costing of Cloud Computing Services: A Total Cost of Ownership Approach

The use of Cloud Computing Services appears to offer significant cost advantages. Particularly start-up companies benefit from these advantages, since frequently they do not operate an internal IT infrastructure. But are costs associated with Cloud Computing Services really that low? We found that particular cost types and factors are frequently underestimated by practitioners. In this paper we present a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) approach for Cloud Computing Services. We applied a multi-method approach (systematic literature review, analysis of real Cloud Computing Services, expert interview, case study) for the development and evaluation of the formal mathematical model. We found that our model fits the practical requirements and supports decision-making in Cloud Computing.

Blockchain Adoption for Sustainable Supply Chain Management: Economic, Environmental, and Social Perspectives

Due to the rapid increase in environmental degradation and depletion of natural resources, the focus of researchers is shifted from economic to socio-environmental problems. Blockchain is a disruptive technology that has the potential to restructure the entire supply chain for sustainable practices. Blockchain is a distributed ledger that provides a digital database for recording all the transactions of the supply chain. The main purpose of this research is to explore the literature relevant to blockchain for sustainable supply chain management. The focus of this review is on the sustainability of the blockchain-based supply chain concerning environmental conservation, social equality, and governance effectiveness. Using a systematic literature review, a total of 136 articles were evaluated and categorized according to the triple bottom-line aspects of sustainability. Challenges and barriers during blockchain adoption in different industrial sectors such as aviation, shipping, agriculture and food, manufacturing, automotive, pharmaceutical, and textile industries were critically examined. This study has not only explored the economic, environmental, and social impacts of blockchain but also highlighted the emerging trends in a circular supply chain with current developments of advanced technologies along with their critical success factors. Furthermore, research areas and gaps in the existing research are discussed, and future research directions are suggested. The findings of this study show that blockchain has the potential to revolutionize the entire supply chain from a sustainability perspective. Blockchain will not only improve the economic sustainability of the supply chain through effective traceability, enhanced visibility through information sharing, transparency in processes, and decentralization of the entire structure but also will help in achieving environmental and social sustainability through resource efficiency, accountability, smart contracts, trust development, and fraud prevention. The study will be helpful for managers and practitioners to understand the procedure of blockchain adoption and to increase the probability of its successful implementation to develop a sustainable supply chain network.

Analysis of The Shark Fisheries Sustainability in Cilacap Regency, Central Java

In terms of supporting sustainable fisheries management for sharks, information is needed so that the goals of sustainable management can be realized. In this case the management covers the ecological, economic, social and technological dimensions. The purpose of this study is to determine the sustainability status of Shark Fish based in Cilacap Regency based on ecological, economic, social and technological dimensions, determining the right strategy in sustainable shark fisheries management based in Cilacap Regency. This research was conducted from March to June 2018 in Cilacap Regency, this study used a survey method. Data collected related to the sustainability aspects of shark commodity fisheries in Cilacap Regency included ecological, technological, economic and social dimensions using questionnaire tools. Analysis for the sustainability of the Shark fisheries in Cilacap Regency The sustainability of shark fisheries in Cilacap Regency uses the Rapid Appraisal for Fisheries (RAPFISH) method. RAPFISH (Rapid Appraisal for Fisheries) was developed by Fisheries Center, University of British Columbia in 1999; Rapid Appraisal for Fisheries (RAPFISH) is a fisheries sustainability assessment method based on a multidimensional scaling approach. The dimensions in RAPFISH concern aspects of sustainability from ecology, economics, technology, social and ethics. Sustainability Status Multidimensional Shark Fisheries is less sustainable with a score of 43.28. The ecological dimension (56.56) and technology (55.51) is quite continuous, the economic dimension is less sustainable (45.63) and social conditions are unsustainable (15.42). The strategy for managing shark fisheries in Cilacap Regency is the W-T (Weakness-Threat) strategy.
