Abstract
The sun won't be up for two hours yet when Schwester Ilse gets up shortly before six o'clock on this winter's morning, dresses quickly, and walks three blocks from the front of the Frankfurt University hospital grounds where she lives to the II Medicine Clinic in the far back corner where she works. Although she is 30 minutes early, she finds her head nurse, Schwester Henny, already at work in the kitchen preparing breakfast for the patients.
