Abstract

Dan’s role as Student Co-ordinator for the IET (Institution of Engineering and Technology) involves being a central point of contact for student activity across the Institution, ensuring strong links between IET staff and student volunteers. Dan is heavily involved with the ‘IET On Campus’ initiative that provides engineering and technology students with fantastic opportunities they may otherwise not be exposed to, such as meeting the industry’s leading employers, visiting engineering sites of interest and developing extra-curricular skills that will help them to make a seamless transition from university into the world of work. It also ensures that the IET has a presence quite literally on campus at various universities worldwide. Whilst no two working days are the same for Dan, he takes us through what a day in his role at the IET is likely to involve.
