Abstract

The value of computers in the handling of low-resolution mass spectral data has been amply documented in the literature. At present, the most powerful data systems for mass spectrometry make use of dedicated computers. A data system is described whose power is comparable to that of the most up-to-date dedicated computer systems but which utilizes an off-line, time-sharing computer utility. The operating characteristics of the system and examples of its use are given.
