Abstract

CADB is a network model data base management system (DBMS) developed for die CAD/CAM systems and it is based on a simplified DBTG data base model. Besides having the characteristics which are common to the conventional DBMS, it has its own features to meet the special requirements of die CAD/CAM. The structure of this system, the access methods, the representations of the data relationships and their physical storage structures, and the system's main commands are described in this paper. This system was implemented on a Burroughs 1955 computer, and has been transferred to microcomputers and used in die CAD/CAM
