Abstract

Colour remains an under-researched area of British cinema history. This case study from the ‘Eastmancolor Revolution and British Cinema, 1955-85’ project explores aesthetics in adaption by investigating the transition from the black-and-white television series Doctor Who (BBC, 1963-present) to the feature film Dr Who and the Daleks (Flemyng, 1965).
