Abstract

To make spectroscopic diagnostics of non-equilibrium hot plasma of T≥5×107K produced in solar flares a new type Bragg spectrometer which monitors iron line emission profiles from 1.78A to 1.94A with a time resolution of a few seconds has been designed and will be launched by a Japanese solar maximum satellite. This spectrometer scans a fixed wavelength range automatically using the satellite spin. Natures of non-equilibrium flare plasma are presented as well as its diagnostical methods.
