Abstract

Objective: Conventional sperm freezing methods when accompanied by the conventional post thaw washing techniques usually lead to a disappointing sperm recovery from the oligozoospermic samples. In conventional method, the sperm concentration of the sample goes down first by the 1:1 mix up of the sample and the freezing medium, and then by the post thaw washing which contributes to a significant sperm loss. We realized that if sample can be condensed before freezing, the sperm count can be amplified, and also if the conventional wash can be avoided then wash related sperm loss can be prevented. In this study we describe a cryo micro device which takes into consideration of these two important issues.
