Abstract

To the Editor: Ethnoracial data on the prevalence of pediatric psoriasis demonstrates a diverse population of affected patients, with 1 study showing a prevalence of 6 African Americans, 16 Hispanic Whites, 20 Asian or Pacific Islanders, and 29 non-Hispanic Whites per 10,000 children.1 Additionally, skin distribution, associated symptoms, and family history of psoriasis demonstrate variability between different racial and ethnic pediatric groups.2 However, even though differences in prevalence and presentation exist between ethnoracial groups, a cross-sectional study of adult phase III clinical trials of plaque psoriasis demonstrated a significant underrepresentation of non-White participants.
