Abstract

The frequent changes in the definitions and values of the quantities used in radiation protection-which it is important to stress are quantities strictly dealing with safety-offer another very good opportunity for criticism to the opponents of the peaceful use of nuclear energy. Therefore it appears that ICRP is more willing to foment such criticism than to try to contribute constructively to the search for some sort of definitive solution to the many problems still open in radiation protection, starting from that of expressing radiological quantities.
