Abstract
All world major mental health organizations (including American Psychiatric Association and the World Health Organization) repudiate the practice of conversion therapy(CT). It is ineffective and has increasingly been shown to cause major psychological trauma to both patients and their families. Currently, the Indian psychiatric societies have no formal policies to regulate this practice.
