Abstract
Abstract: V.C. Finch in his paper ‘Training for Research in Economic Geography’ (Annals of the Association of American Geographers, Vol. 34 (1944) said: “A survey of geographic publications shows all too clearly how ill adapted many of the maps and diagrammetic devices employed are to the purposes for which they were intended...” The validity of this statement is evaluated here in relation to geographic publications of the 1960's and 1970's. The author suggests that Finch's statement is still valid.
