Abstract
In an attempt to make certain sociological aspects of criminology more relevant to my students, a 30-item checklist is administered on which students gauge their own involvement in criminal activity that has not come to the attention of the police. Each of the 30 items is a statement referring to some action that violates a section of the state criminal code. After the checklist is administered, the student (using the same list) can figure the number of years in jail or prison he or she owes the state for these violations.
