Abstract
A covariant wave equation is derived for the study of two-body nuclear systems. The retardation effects are consistently taken into account from the very beginning of the derivation. The non-relativistic reduction up to orderc-2 is shown to be explicitly consistent with the results given by the Poincare algebra commutation rules.
